Color Grading Intern - Video (Comedy)
About Us
SlapStik Comedy gives independent comedians a stage—and gives audiences something to laugh at that isn’t their own decisions. Through podcasts, our magazine, and video content, we showcase rising talent and keep the comedy coming. With 32,000+ followers and growing, we’re building a creative home where artists can collaborate, experiment, and level up.
We’re big on teamwork, clear expectations, and feedback that helps you improve (not spiral). Supervisors work with you—not against you.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Color Grading Intern who loves making footage look clean, cinematic, and consistent—without turning everyone orange. If you enjoy working with color, can take feedback well, and like a fun creative environment, this role is for you.
You’ll work alongside our editing team to polish content for comedians, podcasts, promos, and short-form social clips.
Responsibilities
Create clean, consistent color for video projects (balance, exposure, contrast, skin tones).
Build and apply looks/LUTs when appropriate (and know when not to).
Match shots across angles/cameras so scenes feel cohesive.
Collaborate with editors and team leads to fit the vibe of each project (comedy pacing + style matters).
Implement feedback from team leads and comedians to meet project goals.
Attend weekly team meetings with webcam on.
Communicate professionally via Microsoft Teams + email.
Requirements
We don’t care if you’re self-taught, in school, graduated, or learned color from YouTube at midnight. We care that you can do the work and communicate.
Available ~10 hours/week
Able to attend meetings Sundays, 12pm–2pm EST
Experience with color tools (example: DaVinci Resolve preferred; Premiere/Final Cut experience welcome)
Able to work with AAF project files or handle accurate conversions when needed
Organized, dependable, and able to meet deadlines
Open to feedback and willing to revise
Passionate about color grading with a goal to build a career in post-production
Willing to ask questions (yes, even the “dumb” ones—we like clarity)
Bonus points if you:
Have before/after examples in your portfolio
Know basic audio cleanup (not required, just helpful)
Understand delivery specs for social platforms (Reels/TikTok/YouTube Shorts)
To Apply
Submit: Resume + Portfolio + Cover Letter (PDF preferred).
In your cover letter, tell us:
Who you are as an editor/colorist
Why SlapStik interests you
What you want to create long-term (social media, film/TV, commercials, etc.)
Portfolio: show your best work. If it’s a website link, upload a one-page PDF with the link.

After applications close: we typically review within 2 weeks, but interviews may start as soon as 2 days after closing depending on volume. Keep an eye on your email.
We can’t wait to see your work—bring the sauce (tastefully).
