Staff Reporter (Full Time) - In Person - New York City
The Juggernaut is hiring a Staff Reporter to pursue ambitious and innovative journalism about the global South Asian diaspora.
As Staff Reporter at our media tech startup, you’ll cover some of our most important stories, from culture to food to politics to business to tech. You’ll cultivate a network of sources and pitch and report on South Asian stories that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
You will write/create in different styles and for different platforms, from long-form features and profiles to shorter quick-take stories to social media copy to newsletters and other editorial products (e.g., newsletter, podcasts, video, TikTok, events, etc.).
A writer who’ll excel in this role will be adaptive, quick on their feet, collaborative, have high standards for journalistic rigor without missing the big picture, and have an unquenchable passion for telling South Asian stories.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Pitch original, thought-provoking story ideas
- Write 2 features a week
- Create and edit 3-4 copy/assets a week across social (e.g., IG, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
- Look at metrics to understand what works and test/learn
