Adventure Consultant for One Day Trips

As an Adventure Consultant at ROW Adventures, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality trips by providing enthusiastic sales support and exceptional customer service. You’ll assist guests with booking one-day trips, ensuring all their needs are met, from transportation to accommodations. This role involves regular customer interaction via phone and email, managing reservations through software, and performing data entry. Additionally, you’ll help distribute marketing materials and engage with the community to raise awareness of our offerings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, task-oriented self-starter with a strong commitment to excellence. They possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a background in customer service, and a passion for adventure travel. Additionally, the candidate should excel at writing emails, reports, and business correspondence, and be adept at solving practical problems related to trip logistics and scheduling.

  • Minimum two years in sales or customer service, with strong front-line phone experience.
  • An enthusiastic salesperson with a passion for the outdoors and the ability to communicate trip details effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere, demonstrating good judgment and self-motivation.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar software and willingness to learn new systems or software programs.
  • A friendly demeanor, positive outlook, and a sense of humor!

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guests, providing phone, email, and LiveChat support for trip bookings.
  • Utilize ROAM reservation software to create, monitor, and update bookings, ensuring accurate records of notes and payments.
  • Provide comprehensive information about various trips and share your passion for outdoor activities with guests, ensuring all leads are followed up to secure sales.
  • Review all reservations before travel.
  • Maintain the ROW Adventure Center website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
  • Work with local hotels, Airbnb hosts, and other accommodations to create partnerships and raise awareness of our offerings.
  • Distribute marketing materials to visitor centers and other strategic locations.
  • Book and assign guides to fly fishing trips, ensuring the best match for guests' needs.
  • Be available by phone on weekends during the busy season for guest/logistical emergencies.
  • Participate in occasional trade shows and conferences, which may require travel outside normal business hours (evenings/weekends).
  • Collaborate with team members and support multi-day sales as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, brochure management, and shipping/receiving packages (up to 55 lbs).

Work Schedule: 

Typically Monday – Friday, with on-call weekend phone coverage during the summer season.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation: Starting at $40,000 to $44,000
  • Employment Term: Full-time, year-round
  • Schedule: Generally M-F, 8am-5pm PST with some nights and weekends required

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This position is primarily in a clerical, office setting and this role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers and telephones, and may occasionally travel 1-2x a year on ROW Adventure Family of Companies, retreats and/or training. Elements of the job duties may also require occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
