Social Media Intern (Reddit-Focused)

We're an indie game studio building a cozy, character-driven social life sim. Our community is a huge part of how we grow, and we're looking for a part-time social media intern to help us run and grow our presence — especially on Reddit, alongside other social platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who already gets Reddit culture and enjoys participating in online communities in a thoughtful, authentic way.

What you'll do

  • Manage and grow our presence on Reddit (primary) and other social platforms (secondary)
  • Participate in relevant subreddits in a natural, community-first way (no spam, no hard selling)
  • Help build and maintain Reddit accounts with sufficient karma through genuine engagement
  • Share updates, answer basic questions, and guide people to our game/community when appropriate
  • Monitor discussions, feedback, and trends related to indie games, cozy games, anime, original characters (OC), etc.
  • Flag interesting posts, comments, or community sentiment to the team
  • Assist with light content planning or post drafts when needed

What we're looking for

  • Active Reddit user who understands subreddit rules, tone, and etiquette
  • Comfortable engaging in English (native or fluent)
  • Strong sense of what feels authentic vs. promotional online
  • Interest in indie games, cozy games, virtual characters, or online communities
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
  • Bonus: experience managing brand or community accounts (not required)

What this is not

  • No bots, no fake engagement, no rule-breaking
  • No hard marketing or spam posting
  • No “growth hacking” at the expense of community trust

Details

  • Part-time / Internship
  • Remote
  • Flexible hours (async, as long as goals are met)
  • Paid (hourly or monthly — negotiable)
  • Opportunity to grow into a longer-term community or social role

If you enjoy being part of online communities and want hands-on experience growing an indie game from the inside, we'd love to hear from you 💛
