Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper (Wholesale Furniture) — Job Description

Cosmos Furniture is a furniture wholesale company supplying retailers and commercial customers. We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage daily financial transactions and keep our records accurate and organized. This role supports operations by handling invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and basic reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable (AP): enter bills, match invoices, and schedule vendor payments

Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): create invoices, track customer payments, and follow up on past-due balances

Record daily financial transactions and maintain clean, accurate bookkeeping

Reconcile bank and credit card statements and resolve discrepancies

Organize and maintain financial records, receipts, and supporting documentation

Assist with payroll support and expense tracking (if needed)

Prepare weekly/monthly summaries for leadership (sales, expenses, cash flow, aging reports)

Support inventory and freight-related tracking (COGS, shipping charges, vendor credits/allowances)

Help prepare documents for the CPA during tax season and year-end close

Qualifications

3-5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (wholesale/distribution preferred)

Experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) or similar accounting software

Strong knowledge of AP/AR and reconciliations

Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines

Professional communication and ability to work independently

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience working in an inventory-based business

Familiarity with vendor statements, payment terms, and freight/logistics documents
