Fundraising and Development Director

About NubAbility Athletics Foundation

NubAbility Athletics Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to getting limb-different youth out of the stands and into the game. We coach limb-different and amputee kids through sport-specific training camps and inspire them to live confident, active lives. With the upcoming launch of our Multi-Sport Training Facility, we’re expanding our mission to provide year-round athletic development and community engagement. Position Overview: The Fundraising and Development Director is the go-getter who fuels our mission. You will lead NubAbility’s efforts to secure and sustain financial support through grants, sponsorships, and brand partnerships, driving impact across our national camps and the new Multi-Sport Training Facility. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the drive of an athlete, the mindset of a coach, and the passion of a changemaker.
 

Key Responsibilities

Donor & Fund Development

  • Develop and execute annual fundraising plans, including donor outreach campaigns.
  • Oversee fundraising events and campaigns, including digital giving initiatives.
  • Build relationships with key community stakeholders, donors, and partners.

Grant Writing & Management

  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Manage grant reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a grants calendar and track deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.

Sponsorships & Brand Partnerships

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with corporate sponsors and brand partners.
  • Develop sponsorship packages and proposals for NubAbility camps and events.
  • Secure annual and multi-year sponsorship commitments.
  • Work closely with the marketing and leadership teams to ensure sponsor recognition and deliverables are met.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain donor and partner databases and provide regular progress reports.
  • Support the promotion of NubAbility’s mission through storytelling, social media, and public engagement, working closely with our Social Media Director to amplify sponsor visibility, fundraising campaigns, and success stories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred experience in fundraising, development, grant writing, or other applicable skills.
  • Ideally, proven success in securing grants and corporate sponsorships.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, thrives under pressure, and performs with consistency and integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Highly organized, energetic, and results-driven.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $50,000 per year

80% coverage of employee health insurance premiums

This position can be fully remote with quarterly visits to NubAbility Headquarters or office-based in Du Quoin, Illinois.
