Community Journalist

FreshWater Cleveland is looking for journalism majors to write and help publish positive news stories, profiles, and features about people and organizations working to make Cleveland a better place to work, play, and live.

This is a chance to build your portfolio, explore a wide range to subjects, and be involved in newspaper publishing from start to finish..

Responsibilities include finding worthy topics in the Greater Cleveland area, writing 2-4 news and feature stories each week, curating photos to go with the stories, and writing headlines. 

Must be able to work independently on weekly deadlines, be willing to rewrite stories based on editor's critiques and comments, and have newswriting experience.

This is a remote job. We all work independently and occasionally meet on Zoom to discuss the editorial calendar and other planning. Must be able to work independently.
