Digital Marketing Intern (Paid)

Overview

At Breaker28, we partner with nonprofit executives to build their knowledge, sharpen their perspective, create more alignment, improve trust, and strengthen their own accountability and the accountability they create for others.

One of the primary ways we do this is by facilitating dynamic virtual and in-person training and retreats. Another way we do this is through action-oriented executive coach-sulting. Finally, we choose to engage in a handful of consulting projects each year at the intersection of our core competencies, interests, and organizations we truly believe in.

To grow our impact, Breaker28 is bringing on a summer digital marketing intern focused on: 1) growing our social media following, 2) creating on-brand video, content and digital graphics, and 3) helping us digitally advertise and grow our local training business.

This is a paid position for 24 hours per week at $20 per hour for up to 12 weeks between early May and late August.

Must-Have Skills

Our ideal candidate has the following skills/characteristics:

  • Hustle and improvement orientation: They are known to “do the most” - they get a ton done, spend a lot of time learning and improving their craft, and don’t settle for “just good enough.” They follow-through and can be trusted to deliver consistently strong work and to get better as time goes on.

  • Very strong creative skills:  They’re an ace at Canva, know how to edit video, and love working with design assets. Bonus points if they are also skilled at Squarespace.

  • Some understanding of digital marketing best practices (specifically social media marketing, content marketing, and/or digital ads.): This role will help us grow our Youtube and LinkedIN platforms and sell our in-person trainings, so a background in one or more of these areas would be helpful.

  • Strong written and verbal communication: Able to communicate ideas clearly, professionally and thoughtfully, both verbally and in writing.

  • Emotional and cultural maturity and intelligence: Ability to take feedback, take accountability for mistakes, afford grace to others, and work across different workstyles, identities and personalities is required.

  • Tech-forward and AI-fluent: Able to learn software easily and leverage AI to improve the quality of your work. Specific experience using ChatGPT and/or Gemini to improve your work (while still doing your own thinking) is critical.

This role is primarily an in-person role based in the Gather VB office in Town Center working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays  - 9:00 - 5 pm.
