Email Marketing Intern

About the Internship

You’ll join a small product team and get a close look at how a real SaaS product communicates with its users and grows engagement. As an intern, you’ll work on customer-facing emails, messaging, and analytics, while participating in product discussions and receiving guidance from experienced UI/UX designers, engineers and founders.

Note: This is an unpaid internship designed to provide students with hands-on experience in email marketing, analytics, and customer communication.

What You’ll Learn & Practice

  • How to write clear, engaging customer emails (product updates, onboarding, alerts, promotions).
  • How to improve email open rates and engagement using A/B testing (subject lines, copy, timing).
  • How to use email marketing tools such as Mailchimp (Intuit) to run and analyze campaigns.
  • How to track email performance and user behavior using Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • How to connect email campaigns to broader funnels (activation, engagement, retention).
  • How to interpret real user feedback and turn it into better messaging.

You’ll work toward a measurable outcome:

Improving email open rates and engagement over time through better writing and testing.

  • Weekly or biweekly 1:1 mentorship with the founder to review your work and answer questions.
  • Guidance on email marketing tools, analytics dashboards, and experimentation best practices.
  • Exposure to real startup workflows (campaign planning, product launches, growth discussions).
  • Feedback and resume/portfolio support (you’ll be able to reference real campaigns and metrics you worked on).

Who Might Be a Great Fit

  • Students or recent grads in Marketing, Communications, Business, Psychology, UX, or related fields.
  • Strong writers who are curious about how messaging influences user behavior.
  • Self-motivated learners interested in startups, SaaS, and growth.
  • Comfortable experimenting, learning from data, and receiving feedback.
  • No prior experience with GA4 or email tools is required — curiosity and willingness to learn matter most.

Commitment & Outcomes

  • Flexible schedule (around 15–20 hours/week, remote).
  • Length: ~3–6 months.
  • At the end, we’ll provide a detailed feedback letter.
