Camera Operator(s)
Casting Call: Camera Operators / DPs (Supernatural Thriller)
Project Title: Cat n’ Mouse Genre: Supernatural Thriller Location: [Twin Cities, MN] Production Dates: February 2026
We are seeking two visionary, reliable, and kit-owning Camera Operators to join the production of Cat n’ Mouse, a high-stakes supernatural thriller. This project relies heavily on an immersive visual language designed to stand out on the festival circuit.
We have an incredible team in place, but we are looking for that final "missing piece"—professionals with the right heart posture who are committed to seeing a project through from the first frame to the final wrap.
The Opportunity & Roles
We are building a lean, focused camera department. Because we are a community-driven indie production, we are operating on a deferred payment model (compensation is issued once distribution is secured).
Role 1: Lead DP / Camera Operator (Full-Time)
Production Dates: Jan 31–Feb 1, Feb 6–10, Feb 21–23, and Feb 28.
Deferred Compensation: $8,000 (Labor) + $2,750 (Camera Package)
Role 2: 2nd Camera Operator (Part-Time)
Production Dates: Feb 7–10, Feb 21–23, and Feb 28.
Deferred Compensation: $6,000 (Labor) + $2,750 (Camera Package)
Requirements: Owner/Operators
We are asking all operators to be Owner/Operators. You must be able to provide and utilize your own professional camera equipment kit for the duration of the shoot.
While we are keeping overhead low, we are fortunate to have a dedicated network of photographers providing additional lighting equipment, allowing us to focus our collective energy entirely on the artistry of the frame.
Why Join Us?
Creative Ambition: Help us push the boundaries of the supernatural genre.
Festival Trajectory: This film is being crafted specifically for high-level festival submission.
Collaborative Culture: Join a crew that values integrity and reliability. We’ve had challenges locking this role in due to commitment issues in the past; we are looking for a collaborator who won't just "show up," but will champion the vision with us until the end.
