About ALIMA

ALIMA (The Alliance for International Medical Action) is a humanitarian medical organization founded in 2009 to address critical gaps in healthcare delivery in some of the world’s most underserved and conflict-affected regions. Headquartered in Dakar, with offices in Paris, New York and London, ALIMA currently operates emergency medical programs across 13 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Haiti. Our model combines direct medical action, partnerships with local medical organizations, and cutting-edge research to transform humanitarian response and improve patient outcomes.

Nearly 90% of ALIMA’s programs operate in conflict zones, serving the most vulnerable communities—children, women, refugees, and displaced populations. Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that everyone, regardless of where they live, has access to quality health services.
