POSITION SUMMARY  

This position is an entry level position working to build up the YWCA presence more online and in the communities we serve. The ideal person will be well versed in creating and managing outward facing online content and marketing engagement campaigns via various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This person will engage supporters, family and partners of the YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts with regular updates on upcoming community events, program happenings and news of current events within the national organization and provider agencies that we partner with. Develop communications with funding sources, YWCA community, and supporters through Social Media platforms, YWCA Website, and Newsletters.  Assist in the development of marketing strategy for socials content, marketing assets and deliverables, and community engagement overall. Assist in designing and creating marketing assets to utilize via online and in print campaigns.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   

 

  • Build and execute social media campaigns to engage current followers 
  • Increase new followers for both Facebook, Linked-In and Instagram.   
  • Manage Tik Tok account and following to participate in online trends
  • Manage and schedule regular posts and respond to followers in a timely fashion. 
  • Create engagement goals around specific fundraising campaigns and asks each month/quarter
  • Have experience with editing images, content, and videos
  • Manage appropriate content for each mediums target audience using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Bring audience members to the YWCA with the potential to build relationships and partnerships
  • Email Blasts to the YWCA audience to participate in fundraising campaigns, purchase tickets to events, etc.
  • Prepare visual content to accompany post, i.e. photos, articles, links to appropriate articles.
  • Connect weekly to discuss plan for communicating and connecting with the YW audience. 
  • Collaborate with other YW departments (Survivor Services, Youth Services, etc.) to communicate department news. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associates Degree or working towards a degree in communications, or public relations  
  • Working experience in social media marketing 
  • Proficient in Social Media platforms.  
  • Proficient in Canva Pro applications     
  • Writing, editing, presentation and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of social media communication. 
  • Positive attitude, detail oriented and good multitasking and organizational ability. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including proofreading. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creativity and critical thinking.  
  • Ability to listen and develop information into social media communication pieces.   
  • Ability to work in collaboration with team members from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. 
  • Attention to detail and organization and ability to meet deadlines.  

                

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS 

Work requires sitting, standing, stooping, bending, walking, and climbing. Position will have extensive periods working with electronic equipment, computers and smart phone devices. A personal vehicle is also required for this position as the YWCA has 7 locations in the Essex County area.
