Internship Placement | Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA)
MOCA is hiring a paid intern to help turn our archives, exhibitions, and Chinatown community stories into social content people actually stop for, save, and share. You’ll support content creation, community engagement, and event marketing across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
What You’ll Do
- Create and schedule weekly content (Reels, carousels, Stories) using Later or native tools
- Capture content at programs and events (shot lists, b roll, quick interviews)
- Write strong hooks, captions, and accessible copy (alt text, captions, ADA-friendly formatting)
- Turn archives and collections into recurring series (objects, “then vs now,” community stories)
- Engage the community: respond to comments and DMs and collaborate with partner orgs/creators
- Support event campaigns (announcement to last call) and track basic performance metrics (saves, shares, clicks)
Ideal Candidate
- Current student or recent grad in marketing, communications, film/media, museum studies, or related field
- Strong writing instincts and an eye for what works on social
- Strong video editing skills for short form social (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or equivalent)
- Interest in Chinese and Chinese American history and inclusive storytelling
- Reliable, proactive, and able to hit deadlines independently
