Asian Liaison Intern

Job/Internship Description

Under the direction of the Community Relations Board Director and the Asian Liaison, the primary role of the Asian Liaison Summer Intern is to work directly with the Asian Liaison and act as a conduit for community members, interpret and translate information, assist in Asian cultural events such as planning, setting up, and working with vendors. 

Duties

  • Interpret and translate information both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of social media, photography, and marketing.
  • Assist the Asian Liaison with pre-event planning, day of execution, and event wrap-up.
  • Execute marketing activities to ensure successful events including but limited to Asian Cultural Events and Asian Heritage Month.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as event tracking, thank you cards for vendors and sponsors, and logistics.
  • Assist with community issues and concerns with the Asian communities.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this internship you must: 

  • Must be fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese
  • Strong fluency in Microsoft Office products like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising responsible judgment and initiative
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Candidate must be available to work within the prescribed hours or if flexible hours or offered, during the season in which he or she is employed.
