Business Operations Intern

Business Operations Intern  

The City of Centerville is looking for a Business Operations Intern! The city of Centerville is a “warm and cheerful” community with a population of approximately 24,000 located southeast of Dayton in Montgomery County. This role works under the Public Works Department and can work up to 30 hours per week. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides general support to Business Operations Team in managing day-to-day business operations.
  • Maintain Public Works records and files.
  • Greets incoming visitors, receives, and refers incoming phone calls, inputs service, and refuse work order requests from City residents.
  • Inputs service and schedules special service requests from City residents.
  • Assist with developing and implementing projects and programs impacting one or more City departments.
  • Assist with grant writing
  • Aid in preparing grant applications and reports.

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                          

  • Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in public administration, business, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.

  • The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to loud.
  • Personal protective equipment is required for all conditions and situations.
  • Some weekend and evening hours are required, as necessary.
