Accountant Bookkeeper

Accountant / Bookkeeper

American Graphics Institute (AGI) is a nationally recognized provider of professional development training in design, marketing, analytics, and digital tools. We work with individuals, universities, corporations, and government organizations across the U.S., delivering high-quality education through in-person and online programs.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage core accounting functions and support accurate, timely financial operations.

Overview

This role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and coordination with external CPAs for year-end reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with leadership and operations staff.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and issue invoices for training programs, corporate clients, and other services
  • Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Record payments and apply them accurately to customer accounts

Accounts Payable

  • Process vendor invoices and expense reimbursements
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Maintain organized records of payables and supporting documentation
  • Reconciliations & Financial Maintenance
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Reporting & Year-End Coordination

  • Prepare financial reports as needed for internal use
  • Coordinate with external CPA firm for year-end close, tax filings, and audit support
  • Ensure records are accurate, complete, and CPA-ready

Qualifications

  • Academic background in accounting or finance
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with in-person collaboration

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000–$70,000

Work Location

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in our Woburn, Massachusetts office and the remainder available for remote work.
