Speech Pathologist
The League Education & Treatment Center is seeking Speech Pathologists to provide services to special needs children
Responsibilities:
- Work with children presented with varied diagnoses including ED, LD, ADD/ADHD, ASD
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Keep up-to-date records
- Conduct assessments as needed
- Participate in team meetings and parent training
Principal Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology
- Must have NYSED certification as Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
- NYS SLP License and Asha certification (CCC) or SLP Limited Permit eligible
- 1 or more years of experience working with young children
Additional Abilities and Characteristics:
- Interest in working with children who exhibit a wide range of communication needs
- Ability to create individualized, strength-based interventions that respect and support each child’s unique communication journey
- Commitment to child-led approaches that promote social-emotional growth, language, and learning through attunement, connection, and play
- Interest in and experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is highly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for providing guidance, counseling, and maintaining required documentation
Schedule:
- Type: In-Person
- Full-time (5 days/week)
- Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
