The Role

We’re looking for a proactive, people-focused, high-communication HR Intern to support our fast-growing global HR department. You’ll work closely with our Head of HR, hiring managers, and team leads across multiple business units — from SEO and PR to F&B and game development.

This is a 23-hour-per-week, remote, unpaid internship designed for students in a work-study program or currently enrolled in a degree (or recent grads wanting real HR experience).

If you’re studying HR, business, psychology, communications, organisational behaviour, or a related field — you’ll gain hands-on exposure that universities simply can’t replicate.

What You Will Gain From This Internship

  • Real-world HR experience inside a multi-brand organisation
  • Hands-on recruitment training: sourcing, screening, interviewing
  • Exposure to global HR operations across 10+ industries
  • Understanding of compliance, documentation, and onboarding
  • Training in communication, candidate experience, and talent management
  • Experience working with HR software and applicant tracking tools
  • A strong recommendation letter upon successful completion
  • Potential continuation into part-time or full-time work
  • Featured visibility on our website + internal systems
  • Weekly touchpoints with leadership, including HR managers and department heads

If you want to work in HR professionally, this internship gives you a real portfolio of experience.

The HR Intern Is an Integral Role

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Fast to communicate
  • Organised and detail-oriented
  • Comfortably proactive
  • Good with people and conversations
  • Ready to work in a very fast-moving, always-evolving environment
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks without losing accuracy
  • Interested in talent, culture, onboarding, and people operations

A foundational understanding of HR or business concepts is helpful, but your willingness to learn and take initiative is the most important factor.

Possible Responsibilities

(You won’t do all of these at once — but you’ll gain exposure to most.)

Recruitment & Talent Sourcing

  • Post jobs across platforms (Handshake, Indeed, LinkedIn, university job boards)
  • Screen applicants and create shortlists
  • Assist with first-round interview coordination
  • Conduct initial candidate evaluations using predefined criteria
  • Support outreach for specialised roles (SEO, PR, operations, sales, legal, F&B, gaming)

HR Operations

  • Maintain candidate and employee records
  • Update internal databases, HR sheets, and documentation
  • Support onboarding workflows for new team members
  • Assist in collecting weekly updates, timesheets, and performance data

Culture & Engagement

  • Help manage team engagement initiatives
  • Assist in monthly recognition awards
  • Support internal communication updates
  • Track employee feedback and sentiment

Training & Development

  • Help organise Pearl Lemon Academy and Pearl Lemon MBA onboarding materials
  • Monitor training completion
  • Assist in scheduling team learning sessions

People Support

  • Liaise with team leads across various departments to understand hiring needs
  • Provide HR-related admin support to managers
  • Support conflict resolution coordination (only observational or assisted)

Your Own Ideas

If you come with new HR strategies, engagement ideas, recruitment hacks, or process improvements, we’re ready to let you test them. Many of our systems were created by interns.

Ideal Candidates Are Studying (or Have Studied):

  • Human Resources Management
  • Business Administration
  • Industrial–Organizational Psychology
  • Organizational Behaviour
  • Communications
  • Sociology or Anthropology (people-focused fields)
  • Management or Leadership Studies
  • Psychology or Social Sciences
  • Human Capital Management

Hospitality or people-oriented service majors

But if you're in another major and love HR, we still encourage you to apply.

You Will Support These Departments:

  • HR & Talent Acquisition (your main department)
  • Operations (for onboarding + documentation)
  • SEO & Digital Marketing (high-volume hiring)
  • PR & Sales
  • F&B Brands (Pearl Lemon Café, How Matcha)
  • Legal & Accounting
  • Game Development (Roblox)
  • Pets Lets Travel

You’ll gain visibility into how HR intersects with each business unit.

Weekly Commitment

  • 30- 35 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling — work around classes
  • Fully remote, asynchronous with some weekly meetings

How to Apply

To proceed with your application, please apply directly on this platform first. Once you do, we will immediately send you the link to our official Pearl Lemon Application Form, which must be completed to move forward.
