HR Data & Analytics Intern

JOB SUMMARY 

 

Colson Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical HR Data & Analytics Intern to join our team. This position offers hands-on experience in HR data management, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and an interest in leveraging data to drive HR insights and decision-making. This position will be based at our Oakbrook, IL and will offer a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation to support HR initiatives, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking HR metrics, including employee demographics and performance indicators.
  • Support predictive analytics projects to identify workforce trends, forecast hiring needs, and anticipate potential turnover risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for HR leadership, including turnover rates, hiring projections, and cost of turnover analysis.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on special projects, such as optimizing data collection processes and improving reporting efficiency.
  • Assist with other HR projects, reports, and tasks. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts.
  • Familiarity with data analytics concepts; experience with predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience utilizing Business Intelligence (BI) tools used for data visualization and analysis, such as Tableau, Power BI and/or Qlik.
