About Concept

Concept is a creative operating system for projects.

We help creatives turn ideas into real work by giving them better tools to showcase portfolios, discover collaborators, and build teams across film, music, design, and culture.

Think less social media, more infrastructure: a place where projects live, teams form, and creative networks grow over time.

We’re NYC-based, community-driven, and focused on building software that supports real creative work.

The Role

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Development Intern to help build and iterate on core product features across web and mobile. This is a hands-on engineering role — you’ll be writing production code, collaborating on product decisions, and learning how a startup actually ships.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building end-to-end systems, is comfortable moving between frontend and backend, and knows how to use AI tools to accelerate development without sacrificing quality.

What You’ll Work On

  • Building and shipping full-stack features across web and mobile
  • Working with APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces
  • Improving search, filtering, and discovery experiences for creative projects & portfolios
  • Collaborating closely with founders on product and technical decisions
  • Writing clean, maintainable code that ships to real users

You should be comfortable (or actively learning) with React / React Native, Python (Django).

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience building full-stack applications (school, personal, or professional projects)
  • Comfortable working across frontend and backend codebases
  • Proficient using AI tools to assist with coding, debugging, and learning
  • Strong problem-solving skills, intuitive thinking and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity
  • Clear communicator who can ask good questions and move fast
  • Nice to Have (Big Plus)
    • Background or strong interest in creative fields (film, music, design, media, photography, dance, etc.)
    • Design sensibility or experience working with designers
    • Prior startup experience

Why This Internship

  • Real ownership — your work will ship and be used by real creatives
  • Direct mentorship from founders
  • Exposure to early-stage startup product, engineering, and strategy
  • Paid, flexible, remote role with meaningful impact
  • Opportunity to grow into a longer-term role if it’s a good fit
