Sparknify produces tech-focused events that bring together startups, investors, creators, and innovators from across Silicon Valley and beyond. From pitch nights and panel discussions to networking mixers and showcase days, our events spotlight cutting-edge technology and the people building the future.

 

We are seeking a reliable and creative Event Media Creator to support both AV setup and on-site media capture(photo and video) at our live events. This role is ideal for a growing content creator or freelance media professional looking to build a strong portfolio while gaining hands-on experience inside the Bay Area tech ecosystem.

 

What You’ll Work On

 

  • Build stages, set up scenes, and arrange props for event production
  • Set up and operate AV systems, including lighting and cabling
  • Capture high-quality event photos featuring speakers, attendees, and authentic moments (both candid and posed)
  • Film short-form video content for social media, marketing reels, and event recap videos (30 seconds to 2 minutes)
  • Collaborate with the Sparknify team to cover key moments such as speaker introductions, pitch sessions, demos, sponsor booths, and audience reactions
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and discreet presence on the event floor
  • Operate and direct PTZ camera systems when required
  • Edit and deliver photo albums and/or short video content within a reasonable turnaround time
  • Ensure all equipment is prepared, functional, and suitable for fast-paced event environments

 

Requirements

 

  • Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to attend events in person
  • Experience with photography and videography (student, freelance, or self-taught candidates welcome)
  • Experience setting up and operating AV systems
  • Comfortable shooting in low-light, fast-paced environments
  • Own professional or semi-professional camera gear, including lenses and stabilizer/tripod
  • Basic video editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut
  • Reliable, professional, and able to take creative direction
  • Nice to have: Interest in startups, technology, or social media video trends
