Creative Content Specialist

Overview

We’re looking for a Creative Content and Community Engagement Specialist to grow our digital presence and cultivate our community online. This role blends content creation, digital storytelling, and relationship-driven outreach. You’ll work closely with the founders to translate our mission and values into compelling stories across platforms including: social media, email, SMS, and initiating brand partnerships. You get to be part of the creative, ground up creation of our brand in the world and your work will help to attract aligned guests, creators, team members, and investors.

Description

California Hot Springs is a resort and water temple that sits on 300 acres of sacred land in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with pristine chemical-free hot water flowing directly from the earth. We are stewarding this precious resource while building a financially sustainable healing center and onsite community that serves as an example of regenerative hospitality. Right now, we are building the resort in the 3D and also building a vibrant community of supporters and guests who share our vision for transformative experiences rooted in nature and conscious living.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Creative Content and Community Engagement Specialist to grow our digital presence and cultivate our community online. This role blends content creation, digital storytelling, and relationship-driven outreach. You’ll work closely with the founders to translate our mission and values into compelling stories across platforms including: social media, email, SMS, and initiating brand partnerships. You get to be part of the creative, ground up creation of our brand in the world and your work will help to attract aligned guests, creators, team members, and investors. 

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Storytelling

  • Develop and implement content strategies across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube platforms.
  • Edit short-form videos using platforms such as CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Premiere Rush to create visually compelling and emotionally resonant content.
  • Write engaging captions and posts that reflect the voice of the founders and the soul of the project.
  • Curate a cohesive visual identity aligned with our brand pillars of regeneration, sacred water, and conscious luxury and our brand style guide.
  • Schedule and post content using tools such as Later, Planoly, or Meta Business Suite, optimizing for engagement and growth.

Marketing & Outreach

  • Plan and execute fundraising and community outreach campaigns across email and social media channels.
  • Manage email marketing through Klaviyo from design to list segmentation and tracking.
  • Reach out to aligned creators, community leaders, investors, and storytellers to build brand partnerships and awareness.
  • Nurture leads through personalized email communication and light CRM management (e.g., HubSpot, or Notion CRM).
  • Collaborate directly with the founders on brand tone, storytelling direction, and social voice consistency.

Analytics & Growth

  • Monitor performance metrics (reach, engagement, click-throughs, follower growth).
  • Provide biweekly insights and recommendations for optimization based on data and audience feedback.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in social media, marketing, or digital storytelling (preferably in wellness, hospitality, or regenerative brands).
  • Skilled in short-form video editing and social-first content creation.
  • Strong design skills with capacity to create a cohesive brand aesthetic.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate a spiritual and nature-based mission into accessible, inspiring language.
  • Proficient in tools such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, Klaviyo, Canva, CapCut, Later, Google Drive, and Notion.
  • Organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with potential funders, partners, and community members.
  • Bonus: Experience in brand storytelling, fundraising communications, or eco-luxury hospitality marketing.

Hours & Compensation

  • Part-time contractor (ramp up to and cap at 20 hours/week)
  • Remote (local to CA), flexible schedule with once a month visit to the springs
  • $35-40/hour
