About Shmoozer

Shmoozer is a new social app, centered around spontaneous, real human conversations. Our content style is energetic, expressive, and social-first. We’re looking for a Motion Designer / Video Editor who can create polished, high-quality short-form content and deliver fast, professional turnaround on social, paid ads, and branded videos.

About the Role

This is a freelance, paid, project-based position. You will collaborate with our team in West Hollywood (in person preferred) to edit short-form content, build motion graphics, and bring our brand concepts to life. 

Responsibilities

  • Edit high-quality short-form vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, paid ads).
  • Create clean, modern motion graphics (kinetic text, transitions, app UI animations).
  • Integrate sound design, pacing, and music for maximum impact.
  • Build sequences that elevate Shmoozer’s brand identity and storytelling.
  • Work efficiently with raw footage from both phones and cameras.
  • Deliver fast turnarounds while maintaining polished, consistent quality.
  • Collaborate with the creative team and contribute to concept development.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Ability to create and animate graphic assets (text, shapes, UI elements).
  • Demonstrated experience editing social-first content for brands, creators, or campaigns.
  • Strong sense of timing, rhythm, visual language, and storytelling.
  • Ability to work independently, take direction, and deliver quickly.
  • Reel or portfolio showcasing motion design + short-form editing (required).
  • In-person availability in West Hollywood preferred, but hybrid is possible.

Compensation

  • Paid — project-based compensation
    (Exact rate to be discussed based on experience and scope.)
