Family Ministries Position

Part-Time | Salary Negotiated Individually

The Family Ministries Position is responsible for the oversight, planning, scheduling, and execution of all ministry areas involving children and youth. This role provides leadership, coordination, and vision to help young people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, incorporating Wesleyan theology and the doctrines and teachings of the United Methodist Church.

Primary Responsibilities

Children’s Ministry

  • Create and implement a long-term plan for Sunday School.
  • Organize, schedule, and support volunteers for Sunday School.
  • Plan and schedule volunteers for Fun and Faith (once a month).
  • Assist in leadership for Vacation Bible School (VBS).
  • Provide oversight to nursery staff and children’s ministry activities.

Youth Ministry

  • Develop a long-term plan for Sunday School.
  • Schedule and organize volunteers for Sunday School.
  • Create a long-term plan for Wednesday Night Youth Group.
  • Schedule and organize volunteers for Wednesday night youth group.
  • Plan one fun/social event every two months (escape room, bowling, Apex, etc.).
  • Plan one mission, service, or outreach experience each month in place of a Wednesday night activity.
  • Plan and oversee Youth Summer Surge (Middle & High School VBS-themed week of mission, service, worship, and fun following VBS).
  • Provide oversight and support for all youth volunteers.
  • Oversee Confirmation, in partnership with a clergy person.

Purpose

Lead our young people to Jesus Christ and deeper in the faith, forming disciples grounded in Wesleyan theology and United Methodist doctrine.

This is a part-time position. Salary will be discussed individually with candidates.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
