About The Young Innovators Collective
The Young Innovators Collective is a creative learning community where children’s voices lead the way. Inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, we offer programs in film, dance, and theater that empower kids ages 4–15 to create, collaborate, and express themselves authentically.
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate Film Teacher to guide young filmmakers through storytelling, camera work, acting, and editing—all in a child-centered, hands-on environment. This is an ideal position for someone with a background in film who loves working with kids and believes in nurturing creativity through play and exploration.
Responsibilities
Teach and inspire students through the full filmmaking process—from idea to final cut
Create a safe, joyful environment where each child’s ideas are valued
Prepare lesson plans and manage class materials
Support students in acting, directing, and editing
Collaborate with the TYIC team and families
Qualifications
Film or Media degree (in progress or completed)
Graduate studies are a plus
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camp, etc.) is highly valued
Strong creative and storytelling skills
Knowledge of basic filmmaking and editing tools
Positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude
Compensation & Growth
$29/hour to start
Part-time role with opportunities for expanded teaching hours as programs grow
