Spring Intern – with the potential to continue through the Summer

Commitment – Anticipated start of 1/21/2026 through 5/1/2026. Must have Monday and Wednesday availability during the Spring semester. Intern must complete approximately 10 hours of onboarding prior to 1/21/26 either in December or early January. This is a paid internship.

Location: U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Billard Hall – New London, CT. This is an in-person position.

About CGAAC: The Coast Guard Academy Athletic Corp (CGAAC) is a nonprofit organization created to support the mission, growth, and success of Coast Guard Academy Athletics.

CGAAC seeks to drive innovation and impact through camps & clinics, events, brand partnerships, and community engagement.

 Internship Summary: CGAAC is looking for a motivated and curious college student to join our team this spring as an intern.

You will gain meaningful, hands-on experience in nonprofit organization management while contributing directly to exciting projects and initiatives.

This internship is ideal for students interested in the fields of sports management, nonprofit development, business strategy, event planning, or marketing.

Key Areas of Involvement:

  • Nonprofit Organization Management
    • Support operations, strategy development, and internal systems for a start-up nonprofit
  • Event Coordination 
    • Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of local community events
  • Fundraising & Donor Engagement 
    • Contribute to donor outreach strategies, database management, and storytelling efforts
  •  Corporate Partnership Strategy 
    • Help identify and engage potential corporate sponsors
    • Assist in developing proposals, activation plans, and partnership assets
  • Camps & Clinics Generation 
    • Participate in planning and promotion of athletic camps and clinics 
    • Gain experience in registration platforms, program development, and outreach
  • Branding, Licensing & Merchandising
    • Support initiatives related to CGAAC’s licensed merchandise strategy
  • Special Projects 
    • Jump into a variety of ongoing projects including marketing campaigns, research initiatives, and new program launches

Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn and contribute across a wide range of projects
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; bonus for experience with Canva, Salesforce, Mailchimp, or social media tools
  • Base-level competence in modern AI tools
  • Interest in athletics, nonprofit work, or event planning is a plus
