Job Title: Fundraising and Development Intern
Organization: National Criminal Defense College (NCDC)

The National Criminal Defense College (NCDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the cause of justice by training and supporting public defenders and criminal defense attorneys across the nation. Through its renowned programs, NCDC equips lawyers with the advocacy skills and courage needed to defend the accused and uphold constitutional rights.
Position Overview:
NCDC seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Fundraising and Development Intern to support the organization’s fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, development strategy, communications, and donor relations within a nationally respected justice-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in donor research, database management, and data entry using NCDC’s CRM system (Bloomerang).
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.
- Draft donor communications, including thank-you letters, email updates, and social media content.
- Help maintain accurate donor records and ensure timely acknowledgment of contributions.
- Conduct research on funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships.
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications teams to strengthen outreach strategies.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CRM or donor management systems (preferred but not required).
- Interest in social justice, criminal defense, or nonprofit work.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
