Social Media Intern

Location: Bristol, Rhode Island (On-Site/Hybrid)

Duration: Up to 400 hours with option to extend

Compensation: $15-20/hour, Academic Credit

Start Date: Fall 2025

About Us

O’Brien & Brough is a small-batch, family-owned craft distillery dedicated to creating premium spirits that celebrate local ingredients, bold flavors, and authentic stories. Our mission is to craft spirits and cocktails with character — and share them with our community in memorable ways.

We’re looking for a Social Media & PR Intern to join our team and help amplify our voice, engage our audience, and build lasting relationships with our customers across Rhode Island.

What You’ll Do

As our Social Media & PR Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience developing and executing creative campaigns that bring our brand to life. You’ll work directly with the marketing manager and distillery team on projects such as:

  • Content Creation: Capture photos, videos, and stories that showcase our spirits, people, and events.
  • Social Media Management: Plan and schedule posts across Instagram, Facebook, and email.
  • Community Engagement: Interact with our followers, respond to comments, and grow our online community.
  • Public Relations: Assist with press releases, media lists, and outreach to local journalists and influencers.
  • Events & Promotions: Support tasting room events, festivals, and product launches.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track engagement metrics and recommend strategies for growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for craft spirits, hospitality, or artisan brands.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a creative eye for visuals.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and content trends.
  • Basic photo/video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools).
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and bring fresh ideas.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, communications, PR, or related field.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world marketing and PR experience in the craft beverage industry.
  • Portfolio-worthy content and campaign projects.
  • Networking opportunities with media, local businesses, and community partners.
  • A behind-the-scenes look at how great spirits — and great brands — are made.
