Screenwriter, Female-Led Western Feature

Please Read: not accepting new applications at the moment. Need to read through current submissions. Thanks!

Early-development feature is seeking a distinctive emerging voice to help bring “God’s Country” to life — a contained, female-led “Western” set on the Nebraska frontier in 1883.

When her fire-and-brimstone husband leaves for two weeks, a repressed wife and her naive daughter on a secluded farmstead are drawn to a magnetic stranger whose mysterious arrival unravels long-buried desire, betrayal, and quiet devastation.

The film blends the atmosphere of The Power of the Dog or The Beguiled with the claustrophobic sensuality of Babygirl.

Produced by a USC Peter Stark Producing Program alum and former Vice President of The Harvard Lampoon. Payment based on experience and prior work. We welcome thoughtful storytellers who bring depth, empathy, and originality to their characters. Please include a writing sample and a brief note about your creative voice.
