Engineering Aide

Position: Part-time Engineering Work 

Duration: One Semester (renewable every semester until student’s graduation)

You can play a part in the formation of University of Miami College of Engineering/Johnson & Johnson 3D Printing Center of Excellence Collaborative Laboratory at UM starting in the Spring of 2019.
Job Description:
  • The engineering aide will assist the area engineer in executing various assigned tasks related to material and process innovation projects in the industry of medical products.
  • Some of the tasks may include
  • Assist in designing and executing experiments toward advancing innovation in medical devices
  • Apply your engineering skills in design/fabrication of prototypes related to process innovation projects in medical devices
  • Assist in installing and qualifying material characterization and additive manufacturing processing equipment in UM and J&J Collaborative Laboratory at University of Miami
  • Prepare presentation materials, reports and other documentation 
Job Requirements:
  • An engineering student at junior or senior level with at least 3 semesters left to graduate including summer opportunities
  • Proficient in excel, word and MS PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in MS project and Minitab a plus but not necessary
  • Work experience in a lab environment a plus but not necessary
  • Knowledge of material testing and analysis a plus but not necessary
  • Available to work at least 20 hours a week for 6 months
  • US work authorization required
