General Description: The Tourism Relations and Sales Representative strengthens partnerships, boost tourism sales, fosters community relations, and coordinates with the film commission. Aims to increase visitation, improve the destination's visibility, and create economic benefits by collaborating closely with local partners, meeting planners, and travel industry professionals. This role reports to the Destination Management Organization (DMO) Tourism Sales Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as a primary liaison between the DMO and local tourism partners, hospitality businesses, attractions, and community organizations.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with industry partners to foster collaboration and support shared tourism goals.
- Coordinates partner communications, updates, and engagement opportunities to ensure active participation in tourism initiatives.
- Attends off-site local, regional, national, and international events as necessary to foster relationships with key stakeholders.
- Assists in the development and implementation of sales strategies to attract leisure travelers, meetings and conventions to the destination.
- Supports lead generation, request for proposals, and client servicing for group sales, and conferences.
- Tracks leads, sales activity, maintains CRM/database records.
- Represents the destination at trade shows, networking events, and partner functions to build visibility and relationships.
- Coordinates familiarization (FAM) tours, site visits, and partner events to showcase the destination's offerings.
- Supports the development of cooperative marketing programs and promotional opportunities with tourism partners.
- Internal collaboration.
- Provides insights and feedback from partners and clients to inform organizational strategies.
- Assists with special projects and initiatives that strengthen the destination's reputation and economic impact.
- Processes applications to film with the required permits.
- Maintains the film commission database up-to-date with images and location information.
- Updates the internal filming log.
- Acts as a liaison between the film commission and shooting locations.
- Attends Film Florida meetings.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40lbs. Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, reach and climb frequently.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends with ability to travel. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40lbs. Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, reach and climb frequently.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in tourism, hospitality, business, marketing, or closely related field and two (2) years of experience in tourism, hospitality, sales, community relations, or business development. Experience in Group Sales for S.M.E.R.F., incentive, Corporate, and Association markets. CRM experience. Previous CVB/DMO experience preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
