Computer Science Instructor
Purpose: To enrich and educate youth populations in the Burlington County area on various STEM Topics by exposing youth to various hands-on, fun STEM activities. This position will be responsible for facilitating lessons and events alongside 4-H staff.
Time Commitment: 50 hours total over the course of the semester
Compensation: $1,000 per semester
Responsibilities: To build relationships with high school students and elementary school students through Computer Science (CS) learning. With support from Rutgers University and Apple, student teachers will teach and implement curriculum to middle school and high school-aged youth. This may include but is not limited to;
- Participate in Fall 25' training to learn about devices and curriculum
- Attend weekly meetings to plan and implement the lessons
- Teach and facilitate workshops for middle school and high school-aged youth.
- Complete Protection of Minors training
- Assist with program/project documentation and reporting.
Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled as a student at college or university for the 2024-2025 school year.
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be willing to support youth in a CS pathway through positive youth development.
- To support both the needs of our youth and families and the need for a greater technology-based workforce.
- Must have a strong interest in youth development, STEM, and/or Urban Education.
