Office of Writing and Communication Social Media & Digital Marketing Interns: 


The Office of Writing and Communication (OWC) is seeking two highly motivated 
and creative undergraduate student social media and digital marketing interns to join our team. These positions will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the social media presence for the OWC across all platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, etc.), developing new strategies and digital marketing campaigns, creating and scheduling posts, monitoring analytics to identify benchmarks and meet goals, and creating graphics/design elements to support promotion of events and opportunities related to writing on campus. Additionally, these positions will conceptualize, write, edit, and publish our bi-weekly newsletter.  


The OWC student social media and digital marketing interns will work ~10 hours per week at a wage of $11.50 per hour beginning as soon as possible. 


Advanced knowledge of social media and marketing, familiarity with design software and trends (Canva, Photoshop, etc.), and superior writing and editing skills are required. 


Other qualifications include: 

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in a professional environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to complete work error free and by set deadlines.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite, including Outlook.
  • Photography skills highly desired.

About the Office of Writing and Communication: 


The OWC was established to serve as a strategic hub for writing and communication on campus. Housed in the Office of the Provost, the new office aims to support existing units on campus while strengthening shared resources, streamlining coordination, and amplifying Iowa’s national reputation for writing and communication excellence.
