Public Policy Assistant Intern

As a Public Policy Assistant Intern, you'll help support McGraw Hill’s Government affairs department on better understanding the education policy issues by conducting research, evaluating existing policies, and reporting their findings.

This is a 10-week summer internship from June 8th – August 21st and is a remote internship. Candidates need to currently be pursuing a degree within the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Read education reports, white papers, public positions and op-eds.
  • Track and monitor education legislation and education budgets.
  • Maintain company government affairs presence on internal company website.
  • Share news about appointments of key education policymakers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree Political Science program.
  • General knowledge of education public policy.
  • Experience working in a state government office would be helpful.
  • Research and analytical skills to review education reports.
  • Written communication skills to organize ideas and present findings in a logical manner.
  • Oral communication skills to explain, justify or discuss a variety of policy issues.

The pay range for this position is between $18-$20/hour, however, pay offered may vary depending on degree pursuing, knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
