Join our agile and ambitious startup team and play a pivotal role in developing the Whole in One Health "W1" personal health hub app. This groundbreaking platform aims to offer users unprecedented data interoperability across health apps, medical records, and user inputs, along with AI-driven insights that help users understand and manage their health. Crucially, the app is being designed to work seamlessly with healthcare providers and researchers to truly bridge the gap between personal data and clinical care.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the W1 app features, which currently functions across iOS, Android, and web using React Native.
  • Collaborate with the lead developer to design and implement systems for seamless data interoperability and integration with various health data sources.
  • Debug and fix issues within the app, ensuring seamless performance and feature delivery on all platforms.
  • Contribute to backend systems, including database integration and API development to handle complex health data.
  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
  • Research and implement modern technologies to enhance app functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to align the app with the product’s branding and vision.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to dedicate at least 20 hours/week for this unpaid internship.
  • Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field OR demonstrable experience.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with modern web development frameworks (Node.js is a plus).
  • Knowledge of mobile app development frameworks, specifically React Native.
  • Strong foundation in HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL) and backend integration.
  • Experience using version control tools like Git.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and capable of meeting project deadlines efficiently.
  • Quick learner with a passion for exploring and applying new tools and technologies.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience deploying mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Experience with health data.
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards and best practices for web and mobile platforms.
