Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Senior Human Resource Administrator or management, this position performs a wide range of daily HR functions, including personnel transactions, recruitment, file maintenance, employee communications, benefits administration, training, and driving performance management initiatives to support employee growth and organizational effectiveness. The role also supports compliance, labor relations, and provides guidance to county departments on personnel matters. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the creation, revision, and maintenance of position descriptions, organizational charts, and related records, ensuring all documents comply with applicable laws and regulations. This position interprets and communicates HR policies consistently, ensuring consistent application of County Policy and procedures, while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws. It also assist with departmental requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and travel requests.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Management, or Industrial Relations, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility and experience in Human Resources areas, especially in the public sector. A PHR, SHRM-CP IPMA- HR, or CBE certification preferred. An equivalency of experience may fulfill formal degree requirements.
