Sin-cere Transportation Services LLC provides compassionate, reliable non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services to seniors, patients, and community members across Rhode Island. Our mission is simple: empowering mobility with compassionate, reliable service. We partner with major insurance carriers (such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, MTM, and Kaizen Health) and work with retirement homes, nonprofits, and community organizations. As a small, growing company, every team member makes a direct impact on expanding access to essential transportation services.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern – Grant Writing & Outreach Assistant to join our team. This dual-focused role will support the company's efforts in securing new funding and expanding our client base within the community. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, and eager to gain real-world experience in nonprofit fundraising, corporate communications, and community engagement.

Expected Responsibilities

The role will be split between Grant Writing & Research and Outreach & Community Engagement.

I. Grant Writing & Research

Research local, state, and federal grant opportunities that align with the company's mission and transportation services.

Summarize grant eligibility, deadlines, and requirements in clear, concise notes for review.

Assist with drafting, editing, and polishing compelling grant applications and proposals.

Maintain accurate tracking of open applications, follow-up deadlines, and submission statuses on the shared calendar.

Organize and maintain grant documents, templates, and materials within the company's Google Drive.

II. Outreach & Community Engagement

Conduct professional outreach via phone and email to potential partners, including retirement homes, senior centers, and nonprofit organizations.

Clearly introduce Sin-cere Transportation and explain opportunities for partnership and client service utilization.

Send professional follow-up emails and place follow-up phone calls as directed by the CEO.

Track and log all outreach attempts and responses in the company's outreach log.

Report potential leads, partnership opportunities, and community intelligence directly to the CEO.

Minimum Requirements & Essential Skills

Strong Written and Verbal Communication: Must be able to draft professional correspondence, edit grant language, and clearly articulate the company's mission over the phone and in writing.

Organizational & Time Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain clear tracking logs, and ensure all documents are organized and easily accessible in Google Drive.

Research Skills: Ability to effectively search for and distill complex information (e.g., grant requirements and legal text) into clear summaries.

Reliability and Professionalism: Must be consistent with assignments, maintain professional etiquette in all communications, and uphold the company's image when interacting with community partners.

Initiative: A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of tasks, find solutions, and seek out new opportunities without constant supervision.

Ability to submit a weekly written summary of completed work and progress to the CEO.

Must be willing to use the company's provided communication tools (Company Email, Google Drive, Shared Calendar).

Reporting and Communication

The intern will report directly to the CEO and is expected to respond to assignments and requests within 24 hours. A weekly summary report is due every Friday.
