Intern, Legislative Affairs
Compass Strategies is seeking a part-time or full-time intern (based on availability) to assist with the upcoming legislative session during the Spring 2026 semester. The intern will be heavily involved in the state legislative process as well as public policy matters to assist the firm in advocating on behalf of our clients. This position may include direct working contact with Compass Strategies clients, political officials, leading industry lobbyists, and policy experts. The objective of this internship is for a student to learn the behind-the-scenes process for legislation at the state level. The intern will provide assistance to help the lobbying team pass legislation. The performance of an intern will allow for them to eventually work on their own piece of legislation and lobby on behalf of a client's interest. The intern will have the opportunity to make connections that last beyond the internship and could lead to other hiring opportunities. Each intern will receive training that is specific to the position, the training will include learning how a bill becomes a law, learning the committee process, and the makeup of the legislature. The intern will be supervised and given tasks by the lobbying associates.
