Business Development Internship

Gain real-world business, marketing, and leadership experience this summer! As a Business Development Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience in both growing a brand in the community and improving business operations inside the restaurant.

 

Reports to: Restaurant Directors and Talent Department

Pay: $15/hour

Travel Requirements: 15% local driving

Status/Classification: Full-Time: 30-40 hours/ temporary position (internship)

 

Dates (10 Week Program):

~ May 26th-July 30th

~ Last week: Monday-Thursday work week

~ Cannot miss first or last week of the program

~ 1 week off is allowed, but work will have to be made up another week

Work Days:

Monday-Saturday: OPEN Availability

Evening availability for special events

  • Open 1 day a week
  • Close 1 night a week
  • Work 20 hours a week minimum in restaurant Operations

Requirements

  • Juniors or Seniors (Business, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, or related majors)
  • GPA 3.0+ preferred
  • Student Organization Leader and or proven leadership track record
  • Previous work experience (1–2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Business rotational program - Serve in various restaurant roles (Front of House & Back of House) - every two weeks participants will learn new areas of the business while applying Pathway knowledge each step
  • Pathway Training - Chick-fil-A’s training program
  • All basic Chick-fil-A Team Member Duties and Responsibilities are also required
  • To respond with “My Pleasure” when a customer says “Thank You”
  • To demonstrate eye contract, friendly tone and smile with each customer
  • Build relationships with guests, partners, and catering clients
  • Select a Business Area of Opportunity and activate entire process from identifying the bottlenecks to testing and retesting with real customers to pitching a business solution to the executive team
  • Analyze business data (sales, speed of service, food costs, etc.)
  • Identify and implement operational improvements using LEAN principles
  • Present a final proven and tested Sales & Business Development Plan to Executives
