Employee Experience Evaluation Intern
Public Health – Seattle & King County is seeking an Intern III Graduate Intern (Employee Experience Evaluation Intern) passionate about building evaluation frameworks that measure both quantitative and qualitative data for an organizational culture change effort focused on leadership skills building, coaching, conflict resolution, and workforce wellbeing. The department has embarked on a culture change process laying the groundwork for a thriving workplace where employees, practices, and systems prioritize workforce wellbeing and belonging. To achieve this, we are re-creating systems and changing behavior. Work with employee engagement and public health leaders to help us measure our culture change efforts. This internship is anticipated to last up to 7 months and with an expected start date in October 2025.
Learning Objectives
- Co-design an evaluation framework that identifies reliable measures for systems and behavior change.
- Work collaboratively with wellbeing and engagement leaders throughout the department to implement change assessments.
- Create templates for data tools and reports.

Work Schedule The student will work an average of 16 hours per week (flexibility on this if needed). This position is non-exempt and subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act. The work schedule will work around student class schedules, with student coming in or working remote. Working hours are 16 hours per week. This internship is anticipated to last up to 7 months and with an expected start date in October 2025.
Work Location: The work performed in this position will take place primarily at King County Chinook Building, located at 401 5th Ave, Suite 1047, Seattle, WA 98104 and remotely.
The work associated with this position is currently being performed through telework, complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
Job Duties
- Research effective evaluation methods and tools for organizational culture change.
- Create measurements for wellbeing and other employee experience outcomes.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
- Author final report and presentation of report.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following (Minimum):
- Enrolled in a graduate program full time and will continue through the full internship.
- Pursing experience/education in Public Health, evaluation, social sciences or a related field.
- Ability to document and catalog research findings.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Excellent communications in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated reliability in attendance and producing work products.
