Network Integration – Virginia Beach, VA 

 

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is looking for a Systems Specialist to support the organization's IT infrastructure by proactively monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and contributing to continuous service improvement. This professional will maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of computing environments, from endpoints to servers to cloud platforms, using various hardware and software tools. They will also participate in infrastructure enhancement projects, manage service requests, document technical procedures, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to CBN’s Biblical mission to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Foundational knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), network systems (Cisco IOS, wireless access, structured cabling), and enterprise IT management systems (backup, virtualization, inventory)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, etc.), network tools (Wireshark, Fluke), and physical network components
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and a confident capability to troubleshoot complex problems from discovery to resolution
  • Baseline familiarity with scripting tools, especially Microsoft PowerShell
  • Ability to analyze technical documentation effectively and work with AI assistant tools responsibly
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as be an effective member of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to establish rapport with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to execute both oral and written instructions
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Availability to work shifts and after hours as need/on-call
  • Ability to lift 30lbs. and use basic hand tools and use a ladder for overhead work
  • Demonstrate life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with CBN’s non-profit Christian mission
