Evening Post Books, the book publishing division of Evening Post Publishingpublisher of The Post and Courier, is seeking a paid marketing intern for the fall term. Reporting to the marketing manager, the marketing intern’s goal is to work alongside the editorial team and marketing manager to transpose EPB happenings (books, author news, bookstore partnerships, events, etc) to social media and digital platforms to increase brand awareness and reach. By working as a marketing intern, the student will have the opportunity to acquire and further develop their communication skills, time management abilities, and creativity in a professional environment through a book publishing lens.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Possess strong written and verbal skills
  • Be a detail-driven doer who takes pride in crossing things off a list and keeping tasks and assets organized
  • Operate as a creative thinker with a ‘no project too big or too small’ mindset
  • Have experience in Canva and social media platforms (required). InDesign, Shopify, Constant Contact, Klaviyo, or analytics tools like Metricool are a plus
  • Be familiar with the Microsoft Suite and other file management platforms, namely Outlook, calendar, SharePoint, and DropBox
  • Possess a keen eye for project/time management, prioritization, and execution
  • Be comfortable working and managing tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Be a metrics-minded learner curious about what data says and how it informs

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling, developing, creating, and posting social media content
  • Managing the EPB content calendar
  • Pitching and creating web content (blogs) and monthly newsletters
  • Monitoring social media platforms and analytics, and engaging with followers
  • Collaborating on press releases and pitches for new titles
  • Attending events to capture content

Physical demands:

  • Long periods of sitting
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement (while operating a computer)
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting (15-30 pounds)
  • Eye-hand coordination (typing)
  • Extended periods of reading fine print on a screen

This role is for someone who loves both building (graphics, campaigns, content, systems, media lists) and finishing (checklists, reports, follow-ups). As a small team, your work will drive impact and growth before your eyes. You’ll leave with a real portfolio of work and the satisfaction of seeing your efforts bring books to life.

For consideration, please submit a brief (less than 400 words) cover letter outlining your relevant experience, applicable education, and professional aspirations, and a resume by October 2, 2025. Although not required, please include a portfolio of relevant work if you have one developed.
