Spring Training Operations and Fan Services Internship

     Operations and Fan Services Internship

      Preferred Dates: January 8th – March 31st

      Number of Openings: 3

This is an unpaid internship, with the opportunity to earn college credit. Approximately 30-35 hours a week in January/February with hours extending to 40 during the month of March.

The ideal candidate is interested in a career in professional sports with an emphasis in Hospitality, Ticket Sales/Marketing and Community Relations. This position is instrumental and designed to help the individuals learn the development, coordination and implementation of all aspects of Spring Training at Ed Smith Stadium.

Examples of Responsibilities and Expectations:

DAILY OPERATIONS – Assist in coordination and scheduling of all:

·           National Anthem Singers

·           Ceremonial First Pitch

·           Creation of day of game scripts

·           Oversee the execution of pregame ceremonies and game day presentation

·           Coordination and scheduling of Community Booth Partners

·           Execution of all in game promotions and giveaways

·           Assist in set up and break down of all events held at Ed Smith Stadium including: On-sale Day, Season Ticket Holder Event, Spring Training games, Concerts, and many other events.

ADMINISTRATION

·         Scheduling of Street Team for community promotions

·         Assist in invoice payment and filing

·         Assisting with all UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries

·         Answer phones giving the best customer service possible

·         Create maintain MLB package delivery summary Log

·         Coordinate and execute Major League practice logistics

·         Assist VIP’s to specific exclusive locations

·         Comply with MLB security guidelines and operational guidelines

 

TICKET OPERATIONS

·         Assist the Ticket Manager in setup of picnic areas, luxury suites, and 3rd base lounge for incoming guests.

·         Utilize ticketing system (Tickets.com Provenue) to process ticket orders, season tickets, group tickets and individual game tickets

·         Service and interact with customers on a regular basis to help resolve ticket questions and concerns

·         Work on the street team and represent the Orioles at community events, deliver pocket schedules out to local businesses, and execute other grassroots marketing projects

·         Assist in spring training practices and other duties assisted by manager

Requirements:

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·         Ability to multi-task and manage large groups of people

·         Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

·         Strong organizational skills

      Baseball knowledge is preferred

      Must receive college credit to apply. Current enrollment in Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Sports Management, Communications, Marketing or related field is preferred

      Must be Junior year or greater to apply

      Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
