Bilingual Community Relations Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Community Relations Coordinator will be responsible for leading all outreach and community engagement efforts for River to Coast Children's Services (RCCS). This includes coordinating a regional initiative to expand awareness and access to Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) across 11Western Sonoma County School Districts in partnership with the Sonoma County Child Care Planning Council (CCPC). The role will also be responsible for managing RCCS's website, Facebook, Instagram, and local parent group communications, while also representing the agency at community events and meetings. RCCS is looking for a proactive, digitally savvy individual who is passionate about early education access to join our team in making a meaningful impact in Western Sonoma County.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Represent RCCS at all outreach events, school meetings, and community forums to promote the importance of early learning and available services.
o Manage RCCS's website, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms to maintain an active, engaging digital presence and share timely information with families and the broader community.
o Identify and establish ongoing communication with designated TK/UPK contacts in each partnering school districts.
o Gather, maintain, and regularly update accurate information about district TK/UPK programs, enrollment timelines, and procedures.
o Act as a knowledgeable and compassionate resource for families referred by school districts, guiding them through TK/UPK eligibility, enrollment, and support options.
o Coordinate with internal RCCS staff to ensure family referrals are met with timely, culturally responsive assistance.
o Support the development and distribution of outreach materials and resources, including flyers, toolkits, and digital content.
o Maintain detailed records of community/outreach activities and family engagement for reporting and evaluation purposes.
o Assist with identifying trends, needs, and opportunities to improve TK/UPK access across Western Sonoma County.
Required Qualifications
o Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
o Associate's Degree or higher in early childhood education, social work, or a closely related field preferred, but not required.
o Minimum 2 years of experience in community/outreach engagement, childcare subsidy programs, public education, family services or closely related field.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging with diverse populations.
o Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
o Ability to develop collaborative relationships with schools, agencies, and community organizations.
o Available evenings/weekends.
o Passion for equity, inclusion, and removing barriers to access for underserved families.
o Must have a valid California driver's license, proof of insurance reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Western Sonoma County.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
o In Office and Field Work.
o Requires occasional evening or weekend availability for outreach events.
o Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., outreach materials, resource boxes).
