(Social Media Manager (Part-time)

Location (Hybrid. Primarily remote, however, we are looking for someone who can visit Oakland, CA, on an average, once a week to meet and film for content.

 

Part Time: This is a part-time but crucial role for us requiring about 14-16 hours/week’s work.

 

Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and team-oriented Social Media Manager. This is a part-time but important role for us. In this role, you will develop and execute social media strategy, perform outreach for other digital marketing activities and delve into blog and email writing. Observing the metrics and performance of our social media and digital marketing content is also an important piece for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation Calendar Development: Create a content calendar for social media: (for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube) ensuring alignment with the brand strategy.Develop high quality content, including photos, videos, and media that reflects our brand messaging. Collaborate with our founder and other team members
  • Local Content Capture: Capture content locally at different events and/or with the founder
  • Brand Partnerships: Proactively seek out and coordinate with complementary brands for partnership opportunities aiming to boost mutual engagement and follower growth
  • User-Generated Content (UGC): Organize and incorporate UGC to build brand trust and engage with our community
  • Community Management: Engage with followers and people or brands we are following and engage in discussions and develop relationships
  • Blog and Email Writing: Contribute to writing blog posts for website or other platforms
  • Outreach Activities: Perform outreach activities as required by social media platform engagement or other company activities
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring performance of our social media and other channels and take actions to improve performance

 

Skills

  • Skilled in content development
  • Skilled in photography and video creation with an eye for brand aesthetic
  • Skilled in platforms like Canva
  • Preferred - proven experience managing social media channels, specifically Instagram and TikTok, for personal channel or a consumer brand.
  • Experience in community management and relationship building with followers.
  • Skilled and comfortable with copywriting
  • Familiarity with analytics tools for tracking engagement and refining strategies
  • Passionate about the sustainable and cruelty-free industry, eager to make an impact with a unique, bold brand
  • Must have a driver’s license, access to a vehicle and be very comfortable with driving. We are looking for someone who lives near or can commute to Oakland, CA

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Required: 2 years of experience in social media development and management
  • Preferred: experience in beauty/fashion industry
