Primary function of an HR Generalist:

The HR Generalist serves as a field-based HR support professional focused on employee engagement, conflict resolution, employee relations, and day-to-day HR administration. This position requires travel to multiple project sites throughout the Southeast and in-office presence at our Great Falls, SC headquarters twice per week. The HR Generalist works closely with project teams, employees, and the HR Manager to support a positive workplace culture, address employee concerns, and assist with internal HR processes.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide HR support to field teams by traveling to project sites to meet with employees and address workplace issues
  • Promote and facilitate employee engagement and retention across the organization
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and team-related issues in partnership with the HR Manager
  • Support employee relations through coaching, guidance, and timely communication
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Assist with internal HR processes such as policy interpretation, data entry, and HR-related correspondence
  • Participate in and support project-level HR meetings and initiatives
  • May assist with benefits support and general employee inquiries
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment
  • Support and uphold UIG values and culture at all times
  • Perform additional administrative and HR-related duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of HR experience, preferably with employee-facing or field-based responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-up ability
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required and must meet company driving standards
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to travel frequently to project sites across the region
