📱 Project-Based App Designer – Communication Platform for Aging-in-Place Services

About Us:
Hand In Hand In Your Home is a woman- and minority-owned company based in Upstate NY, dedicated to helping older adults age in place safely, affordably, and with dignity. Our services range from care coordination and Medicaid assistance to property maintenance, travel companion services, and complex discharge planning. We are developing a custom communication app to streamline client care, scheduling, service coordination, and provider-family communication in real time.

Project Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced App Designer to lead the design and user experience for our custom communication app. The app will be used by internal staff, caregivers, clients, and family members to improve transparency, reduce delays, and centralize care documentation.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with our leadership team to conceptualize the app’s user flow

Design an intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly UI/UX for mobile and desktop platforms

Create wireframes, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups

Ensure the design aligns with HIPAA compliance standards and elder-friendly accessibility needs

Incorporate branding elements into a clean, modern interface

Work alongside developers (in-house or external) to guide the implementation of the design

Qualifications:

Proven experience designing healthcare or communication platforms

Strong UX/UI portfolio with mobile-first and cross-platform design examples

Experience designing for accessibility and older adult populations

Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with a small team

Bonus: Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines or the eldercare sector

Project Duration:

Approximately 6–10 weeks (scope may expand with development phase)

Flexible hours, remote work, milestone-based payments

Compensation:

Competitive project-based rate based on experience and portfolio
