Job Title: Downtown Oshkosh BID Intern – Economic Research, Events & Marketing
Organization: Downtown Oshkosh Business Improvement District (BID)
Location: Downtown Oshkosh, WI (primarily onsite)
Duration: July–August 2025 (8 weeks)
Hours & Compensation: 15 hours per week; $14-16 per hour
Internship Overview: Downtown Oshkosh BID seeks a motivated and organized intern to support economic research, event planning, and marketing initiatives. Your work will directly impact the vibrancy of downtown Oshkosh, helping track economic trends, engaging the community through events, and enhancing visibility through marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Economic Research:
- Compile and manage a catalog of downtown properties, including property and business details (occupancy, ownership, business type).
- Gather and analyze key economic metrics (occupancy rates, new/closed businesses).
- Prepare summaries and visual reports highlighting downtown economic trends.

Event Planning & Support:
- Assist in coordinating and executing BID-sponsored events.
- Provide on-site event support, including set-up, vendor coordination, and attendee engagement.

Marketing & Communication:
- Support social media and promotional activities related to events and downtown initiatives.
- Create content for BID newsletters, social media platforms, and other marketing channels as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in Business, Marketing, Urban Planning, Communications, or related field.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Comfortable interacting professionally with business owners, property managers, and community members.
- Reliable transportation or the ability to navigate Downtown Oshkosh independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest or prior experience in event coordination or community engagement.
- Basic graphic design or content creation skills.
