
Summer Intern, Data & Research Department
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Summer Intern to join our Data & Research Department. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful data-driven projects that support patient advocacy, scientific research, and registry operations. The intern will assist with various data entry tasks, data cleaning, and preparation of datasets for analysis, gaining exposure to real-world health research and nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately enter, update, and verify patient and research data in internal databases.
Assist with data cleaning, formatting, and quality control processes.
Support data extraction and preparation for ongoing research studies.
Help with organizing documentation and project tracking tools.
Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with staff on research and registry-related initiatives.
Conduct basic literature searches or data summaries as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all data security protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Public Health, Biomedical Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., sorting, filtering, formulas).
Interest in clinical research, patient advocacy, or health data management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a remote team.
Prior experience with REDCap, R, or SQL is a plus but not required.
