What I liked

Going to the any of the meetings. Whether it was with the DEQ or just the staff members it was great to hear from and talk with people about their work.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have contributed more to Mosaic’s gypsum issue.

Advice

Assert yourself. If you want to work or learn anything go around and ask the team you are with or even people outside of your field. Any experience you can get is useful during an internship.

Accounting Co-Op Intern

What I liked

The internship gave me experience in all aspects of business/accounting, not just a single team or department. I spent time learning from almost everyone in the office and with every team within Mosaic. I also got to go out into the field (plants, mines) and conduct inventory surveys, tour phosphate mines, and learn about how Mosaic's fertilizer is made.

What I wish was different

I wish that the program had more of an organized schedule attached to it. However, this type of program helped me learn to be more punctual and gave me a realistic view of how busy business can be at times.

Advice

Career fairs are gold mines. Without the accounting career fair in the MSC, I probably wouldn't have gotten this opportunity.

What I liked

l enjoyed the ability to work with different fields to better understand what l wanted to do when l graduated

What I wish was different

That l had more outlined and set projects to do rather than wait until an employee had a task for me

Don’t be afraid to ask for projects and ask to join people in meetings, etc

What I liked

I actually did engineering work, instead of just manual labor. Everyone at my site was very helpful and willing to teach me different aspects about the mining process.
